A Letter from the President of Great Western: I consider myself very fortunate to be associated with an organization that is extremely sensitive to the needs and requirements of its clients, customers and employees. And, I want to continue to help Great Western Dining Service be the kind of organization that values all who are a part of it. One that recognizes that everyone can make an important contribution...one where everyone counts...one that has a great impact on those we serve. Because we know that it is our GWD managers that take care of our customers and clients, and it is their dedication and commitment that will keep these groups satisfied for the long term, we look for those who are naturally inclined to be helpful and have a strong sense of service. We have built a strong supporting network for them so that they can not only succeed but have fun doing it--because I believe that going to work SHOULD be fun. Sure, you have to have the technical pieces such as quality procurement, cost containment, technical skills and training, food and physical safety, and of course, human resource management. But, most of all, we require our people to possess that strong sense of service, that enjoyment of connecting with people. Our flat organization ensures that each account not only knows their local management team but also their District Manager and the President. Centralized accounting means that our managers spend more time interacting with our clients and customers than in their offices. Every GWD management person is a "salesperson" for us. And, we intend to continue to "sell" by reputation and through client/customer recommendations. I believe that quality food and great people are the very foundation of our success and that these two elements will continue to allow Great Western Dining to excel and grow in our marketplace. We are a people oriented business serving great-tasting food, or "food with taste" as our customers say. I'm honored to lead Great Western Dining Service, one of the finest dining service operations management companies in the Midwest. -Fred Pfeiffer, President- |
